Book Insights from Supply Chain Leader

A collection of books, worth reading not only once but many times over. These books will enrich you with interesting insights….

How Will You Measure Your Life? (Clayton M. Christensen, James Allworth, Karen Dillon)

Christensen was the professor at Harvard Business School. This book is full of inspiration and wisdom not only for students, professionals but parents too. It focuses on application of business theories to our personal life.

A good theory dispenses advise in “if –then” statements.

  • Career strategy  should be outcome of your priorities (meaningful life, growth, learning….), suited to opportunities (deliberate + emergent strategy) and allocation of your resources (energy, time, efforts are aligned – must walk the talk)
  • Intimate, loving and enduring relationships are worth fighting for. Go for deep friendships than shallow friendships with many. Invest in relations long before you need them. Must answer “what job did my wife hire me for?” and then do that job. Don’t outsource your parenting role. Equip your children with right experiences. This is the relationship strategy.
  • Personal strategy is one of living life of integrity and staying out of jail. Don’t go down the slope.

So what is your career, relationship and personal strategy?

A good theory dispenses advise in “if –then” statements. The business lessons apply well in Personal life be it Career or Relations.
